Virginia is a lovely state and has many attractions designed around history. While these are interesting it also means that the focus of many of these attractions are directed at retired travellers. Virginia can feel a bit like things are not meant for you or anyone of your generation or income level.
My total score for Virginia out of 50 is 27.
Categories out of 10
Home comforts Quality of food, accommodation, etc. Score of 4. The hotel in Virginia was weird. It was safe and clean (ish), however came across as one of those hotels you would see ina comedic road trip movie. Nothing wrong with it, just a bit off. It was similar with the food, nothing wrong with it, just not great.
Attractions The quality of the attractions and generally how fun and interesting they were. Score of 5. Lots of tourist activities, however they do seem a bit exclusive and not necessarily suitable for everyone. Also, the weirdness with the Colonial Williamsburg “ghost tour” didn’t help.
Natural Beauty The aesthetic vistas of the state which make the drive easier. Score of 6. Nice drive. Lots of trees!
Culture Historical and cultural sites and interactions with the locals. Score of 6. Lots of history, including Mount Vernon and Williamsburg.
Value Financial value – bang for your buck, so to speak. Score of 6. Was pricey, for the value presented.
