Goodbye Capitol City

Yes, I know that Washington DC is not a state, however I thought it deserved its own rating non the less. DC is a very public service-y type of town, which I don’t mind, being a public servant myself. There is certainly lots and lots to do and there seems to be lots of events you can participate in.

My total score for Washington DC out of 50 is 35.

Categories out of 10

Home comforts Quality of food, accommodation, etc. Score of 7. While the hotel we stayed in was not as historical as some of the others we did meet a very nice desk manager who gave us lots of great advice about touring the city, which was very much appreciated. Liked the food lots.

Attractions The quality of the attractions and generally how fun and interesting they were. Score of 8. Lots and lots to do here and very diverse activities – something for everyone.

Natural Beauty The aesthetic vistas of the state which make the drive easier. Score of 7. Seeing the cherry blossoms bloom around the tidal basin was pretty awesome! City is very pretty, particularly at dusk.

Culture Historical and cultural sites and interactions with the locals. Score of 7. Is the capital so lots of historical value, though lots of the actual doing was done elsewhere.

Value Financial value – bang for your buck, so to speak. Score of 6. Was pricey, wouldn’t want to stay too long.
