Visited the International Spy Museumtoday. The purpose of the museum is to give visitors an idea of the history, technology and individuals involved in international espionage. The museum is quite well presented and the exhibits are interesting and provide genuine insight into this activity. The museum states that it is not intended to go Ito the politics of the activity, so they a kid this issue, which is fine. They currently have an exhibit on the villains of James Bond, which did a good job of providing good insight into the fictional as well as linking the films which real world events.
We also took a sunset tour with segs in the city which is a Segway tour of the mall, several memorials and other buildings in DC. I would just like to say that Segways are awesome – they are much easier to get around than walking and they are super easy to use. Lean forward to go, straighten to stop. We were the envy of many other travellers who had tired feet. I would definitely recommend taking a tour on Segway. Our tour guide was very interesting and able to provide us with lots of historical facts about DC and the area.
The city is beautiful at night and the memorials are very well illuminated. We also had the fortunate to be in the city when the cherry blossoms are blooming. The city is certainly alive with people looking at the cherry trees as enjoying the unseasonably warm weather.
