We visited Rhode Island and Connecticut today and saw very different memorials to different decesased authors.
The first, located in Providence, Rhode Island, was for HP Lovecraft, a famous horror writer. He has one small memorial located across the road from Brown in Providence. His grave, which is quite difficult to find, is located in a cemetery in Providence. His grave is frequently visited by many fans who leave small memorial gifts, such as coins, rocks and handmade notes.
The second is located in Hartford Connecticut is Mark Twains house, in which he lived for 17 years and wrote many of his best works. The house is still being restored but contains many original features and furniture. The house is quite elaborate and contains Tiffany glass and elaborate wallpaper. The house has been turned into a museum and guided tours are run frequently through the day.
